New Opportunity for Students!

The Pathways to College Literary Project ( Sponsored by Granville Academy and Waterbury Links Inc.)

Goal: Cultivate Positive Ideology About College Within Students 

 

Tool: I Ain't Going To College ( A Decision Making Guide for Life After High School) by Mario Prioleau

 

Plan of Action

 

Step 1- Read the Book

 

Step 2 -Write an essay, minimum 500 words, double spaced, 12 font

 

Step 3- Essays should address the following:

             

             a. 5 most important things you learned from the book,

             b. What parts of the book directly relate to you,

             c. After reading the book, what can you do differently in your life,

 

Essays should be turned into your guidance counselors by Friday, February 24th. The students with the best essays will be awarded hundred dollar gift certificates and must participate in a Granville Academy book panel discussion. There will be middle school winners and high school winners.

 

Books will be available in the guidance counselor's office.

Grand opening and orientation for parents and students is Saturday, December 3rd at 9 am at Reed School | 33 Griggs Street

(If you are unable to attend a session at the scheduled time, please notify your mentor no later than the day before. If a session time is changed, you will be notified in a timely manner.)
